MALONE BUDGET OFFICER PREPARES FOR CONFERENCE:

Malone Town Budget Officer Andrea Stewart will be one of the presenters at the 15th-annual Local Government Conference at Potsdam State.

The day-long conference, sponsored by the Merwin Rural Services Institute as part of the Center for Regional Research and Community Education, brings together town and village officials for workshops dealing with all aspects of local government.

The conference, "Managing Local Government: Accountability, Affordability and Accessibility, will be held 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.

It is designed for assessors, town council and village board members, budget and finance officers, municipal clerks, planning and zoning board members, community developers and public-works officials.
